Specialist recruitment support for a fast-growing healthcare company
In rapid-growth environments, hiring managers need a talent ally they can trust—one that understands their business objectives and has the networks to support and sustain their hiring strategies at pace.
The privately owned, British company supports healthcare clients—across the UK and worldwide—with its purpose-designed-and-built modular and mobile facilities, providing new or replacement operating theatres, wards, endoscopy suites and decontamination and diagnostic units. As a complete solution provider, the company not only supplies infrastructure but also clinical teams and equipment.
The Context
The business had been through a sustained period of growth, with group revenues increasing fourfold, over the previous five-year period. The management team had developed a new five-year plan that had helped them secure a fresh round of investment. Integral to the plan’s implementation was the development of the finance and people functions.
The Challenge
While current growth was based on the delivery of interim, business-leasing solutions, the company was expanding its operations into new markets that included more complex, permanent construction elements.
To ensure the successful delivery of the company’s ambitious expansion plans we were tasked with beefing up the business-critical corporate functions of finance and HR.
Our Approach
We worked closely with all key stakeholders across the business to establish the exact requirement to strengthen operations, allow headroom for growth—with the agility to respond to fast-moving demands—whilst ensuring business as usual.
As an end-to-end finance specialist, we understood that further transactional talent would be needed to underpin the function as well as a more flexible, operationally focused leadership role that would be needed to engage across the whole business. As such, we recruited for a:
• Purchase Ledger Clerk
• Payroll Specialist
• Finance Business Partner
In addition, we also recruited for a People Co-ordinator, to support the growing recruitment, onboarding and people-management requirements of a growing business.
The result
We have over 25 years’ sector specialist and regionally focused experience. As such, we understand the market and have built extensive finance and HR talent networks. So, as well as using carefully targeted advertising, we were able to headhunt from a deep pool of known, passive talent.
Over the course of around four weeks, we successfully filled every role. Two years on, everyone is still loving their roles and successfully contributing to the continuing growth of the company.
Whilst the in-house HR team do a lot of their own recruitment, the company still comes back to us with any of their harder-to-fill roles.
