Multi-role recruitment support for a high-growth business
Acquired by the European, PE-backed Marco Capital Group, in 2022, Cheltenham-based Polo Works has enjoyed rapid growth. With it has come the challenge of securing the high-quality talent required to build on its success. As its preferred, long-term talent partner, Seymour John works closely with the in-house HR team to ensure that challenge continues to be successfully met.
The challenge
The multiple role requirements across finance, HR, and talent acquisition have fallen within our specialist purview. However, as a trusted partner, we have also enjoyed rising to the challenge of successfully securing the right people for their wider technical insurance specialist, marketing, business development and administrative support roles.
Our approach
Key to our approach has been building an excellent working relationship with the busy in-house HR team. This has helped us develop a profound understanding of the business and its objectives. As such, we have been trusted to work directly with hiring managers, taking pressure off HR and ensuring hires are not only aligned with overall business objectives and the company’s culture, but also the specific requirements of department heads.
An important part of our brief has been to help develop Polo Works’ employer brand. This has included building a dedicated candidate microsite – telling the company’s story, laying out its vision, communicating its culture, detailing benefits and career-development opportunities, as well as listing the jobs themselves. It is a resource that sets the tone for a credible, professional candidate journey, right from the start, which is so important in attracting the best candidates in what has been a very competitive market.

Originally brought in to help develop the finance and HR teams, we have become the go-to talent partner for all Polo Works’ corporate services roles.
