Financial Controller needed urgently

A week to go before the current Financial Controller completed their notice, we were given the urgent task of finding a replacement.

The Challenge

Busch GVT Ltd, in Crewe, had spent 3 months working with multiple recruitment consultancies to find a replacement Financial Controller. They had received over 20 CVs but had been unable to hire successfully. Having served their full notice period, the existing Financial Controller was now leaving. The situation had become urgent. Seymour John was approached off the back of a recommendation and agreed to support the hire on an exclusive basis.

The Solution

Utilising the latest search technologies we scoured candidate profile sources, including LinkedIn, CV Library, Reed and Totaljobs. However, when the Director handling the vacancy has over 24 years’ experience recruiting for senior finance roles, we also had an extensive network of ready-made connections we could tap in to. Within two weeks we had identified and reached out to 56 potentially relevant candidates within a 35 miles radius, conducted interviews by phone or Teams, and recommended four people for interview.

The Result

Busch GVT interviewed all four recommendations, deeming all suitable for employment in the role. The preferred candidate was offered and accepted, and only needed to give four weeks’ notice.
