Context

An HR Director we’d worked with previously in Gloucester had taken up a new role with a pharmaceutical company in Reading. The family-owned business is a global pioneer in the chemistry of carbohydrates and a leader in the development of innovative treatments for patients suffering from iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia.

When the growing business needed a proven finance director to help lead it into the next stage of its development, she, of course, turned to us.

Already understanding that the best, and often quickest, results are achieved when a consultancy is engaged on an exclusive, retained basis, the company was happy to leave the campaign in our capable hands.

Our approach

Where experienced, well-networked consultants have the advantage is the option to dive into a deep pool of known, passive talent.

In addition to searching our own database, we used a combination of search channels and referrals to headhunt a shortlist of six high-calibre candidates to present to the client.

All six were considered suitable, so all six were invited for an initial round of interviews. Four were selected for a final round.
