An exceptional Logistics Manager for a global engineering business

The most successful manufacturing and engineering companies are those that have adapted quickest to the complexities and challenges of a post-Brexit, post-pandemic operating environment. Securing a Logistics Manager with the right skillset to help steer them through the complexity was proving a genuine challenge for our precision engineering client.

The context

Beyond the day-to-day management of logistical operations across multiple business units, our client needed a Logistics Manager with an in-depth knowledge of the shipment of high-value goods in and out of the EU and the rest of the world in the new, post-Brexit era. This included a working understanding of OPR regulations. The successful candidate would also be expected to drive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives in line with the company’s high-performance culture.

This was a senior position, managing large-scale operations, that required technical expertise and proven experience. Having engaged other recruitment consultancies, the four candidates the client had interviewed, to date, had not matched their demanding brief.

The solution

As a quality-over-quantity, specialist recruitment consultancy, we work hard to develop ongoing personal relationships with the best candidates within our specialisms. As such, we have a bank of personally vetted talent we can draw from.

Having reached out to us, we spent time with the client to fully explore and understand the exact requirement. From our initial meeting, we were confident we already knew the right candidate.

The result

We forwarded only one, exceptional, candidate, who more than met the brief. An interview was arranged, and an offer made and accepted. From the client reaching out, it took two days to make a successful appointment.
